Christ, we are going to miss on two of the best talents in Washington State history in one fucking year.

Participant12/04/2020 at 8:13 am #21202Like others have said, I would like to know if Ryan Bowman and/or Latu are playing.
Latu was taken off the depth chart, so I highly doubt he is playing.

Participant11/30/2020 at 1:03 pm #21088It was a good week but lets not make it out to be more than it is.
Let’s also appreciate when things are nice. A cathartic week like that where it seems like everything breaks your way doesn’t happen all the time.
Obviously none of it really matters if we lose to the ducks, but I’m going to enjoy it while it’s here.

Participant11/25/2020 at 8:22 am #20871I would love it if we take all 5 of the in state lineman. Absolutely have to get Conerly. His film is insane. If he was in SoCal or SEC country he would easily be a five star.

Participant11/23/2020 at 10:51 am #20835It’s hard for me to be mad at the Freshman receivers for dropping balls that the Senior receivers from last season wouldn’t even be in position to catch. I’m a glass half full kind of guy, obviously. I saw McMillan running by guys and getting open deep whenever they wanted him to. The catches will happen. They’ve been catching them in practice which is why they’re playing. I never worry about guys transferring out because they got beat out by younger guys. That’s normal.
McMillan is going to be so good, those were balls he usually catches, at last based on his film. I expect him to get things figured out and is going to be ELITE for us.
I also give Puka a pass, he hardly practiced during fall camp. I am ok with a couple dropped balls from him, especially when he can outrun an entire defense like that.

Participant11/22/2020 at 12:02 pm #20795Seemed better. Or is AZ bad?
Both but I would lean to Arizona being bad.
However, if our front 4 can get the pressure we did tonight, next year with Latu, Tuli, back along with ZTF, Smalls, Taki, Bandes, Justin T along with all the back end talent returning it is OVER for the rest of this JAG Conference.
Anyone else getting worried that ZTF could go pro after this season?

Participant11/22/2020 at 11:59 am #20794Best game (not counting 4 quarter) we have had since 2016. I feel like I was wrong on both Morris and Donovan. That offense looked really good.
This recruiting cycle is still inexcusable, which I think is where a lot of the frustration started and spilled out in other areas. Have a chance to salvage with Emeka and maybe even JTT.

Participant11/17/2020 at 8:42 am #20694If BG continues to play sirmon instead of the young talent I’m going to shit. This has shades of kyler manu all over again. I thought jimmy was all about playing talent
Even the people on Dawgman are turning against Sirmon and Bob. That never happens this early in the year. People are scarred from last season.

Participant11/15/2020 at 10:14 am #20589I think the defensive issues can be fixed with the personnel we have. Sirmon is an obvious candidate to be replaced. I think if Tuli comes back and we start rotating Bandes in more often the interior DL will look a lot better. I also think Bowman should get yanked as soon as Latu is healthy, assuming he gets back this season.
The OL is legit, though they are better at run blocking than pass blocking. I saw Ale get pushed on his ass in pass pro, which should never happen to a guy his size against the fucking Beav. That unit should get better as the season goes on.
Running backs have some pieces. Pleasant should not be seeing the field often, can’t fathom why he is the starter. McGrew looks explosive, he can be really good against inferior competition. Newton is good in short yardage, but his vision is too poor to ever be a threat as a featured back. The only run I can remember him having more than like 12 yards was his first touch against Eastern last year.
Just like we all thought, Cam Davis is the only guy in the RB room who has the potential to be an elite featured back. He looked great catching the ball, and had a nice run called back by Watty AGAIN. He had one bad run where he got tackled for a loss, but it was the worst run blocking play of the whole game for UW.
I take a lot more negatives away from this game, but there were definitely some bright spots.

Participant11/04/2020 at 7:54 pm #20370Have you ever spent more than a week in another country in the developed world? There are many nations that kick America’s ass in terms of providing actual opportunity for economic equality, and they enjoy a very high standard of living and are highly productive economies with highly educated people.
Frankly, sometimes I wish my ancestors had never left Scandinavia. The average joe is totally ripped off by the US corporate/political racket.
The US has a higher economic freedom rating than all three Scandinavian nations in the most recent data from the Cato Institute. You regret living in a country with more economic freedom?
CATO Institute. LOL!

Participant11/04/2020 at 11:01 am #20361Biden is a poor choice as a candidate, but the corruption shit that has been cooked up is mostly bullshit. I am absolutely not trying to defend him, he was close to my last choice of all the Dem candidates, but when the entire conservative smear machine is aimed at you and all they can get is that flimsy laptop story, you know his record is fairly clean. God Biden was an uninspiring candidate, and now that the senate is lost, NOTHING will get done for the next 4, probably 8 years at the very least. We are still royally fucked.
I don’t think there needs to be a smoking gun to call Biden corrupt. 40 plus years in politics and he hasn’t done anything that could be described as progressive and he takes big corporate donor money. Even if he had a Dem majority Senate he wouldn’t do anything substantial with it. He’d pat himself on the back for a more progressive tax plan than Trump (but still not even close to being progressive enough because his rich overlords say no to that) and he’d pat himself on the back for passing climate change related policies and that would be it. How about raising the federal minimum wage for the entire country? Seattle’s economy and Western Washington’s economy is doing pretty damn well during this pandemic and was doing great before the the pandemic. Nope, would never happen under Biden no matter what.
Yea that’s pretty fair, I agree with pretty much everything you said. I do think he would be able to pass some election reform and push for DC statehood, which would have huge implications electorally. But that’s all moot now because we shit the bed in the senate. Nothing will every improve nationally, just have to keep focusing on improving Washington State.

Participant11/03/2020 at 9:48 am #20345What is the mods here infatuation with Jacob Sirmon? Subk has been full meltdown mode of the whispers of Morris or Thomson being the guy over him. Yes Sirmon was highly rated and looks the part, but he’s obviously had questions marks for a long time about his leadership, decision making and accuracy. You guys think just because his H.S. ranking & arm strength he should be the starter?
Also I see Morris keep on getting comp’d to Browning as reason hating on him. Everything I have heard and the film I’ve seen is the only thing appears similar to Browning is size; dude has a hose even if he is on the smaller size. Not sure why people think if Sirmon doesn’t start, the playbook would be stripped down cuz of arm strength cuz the film I’ve watched and what other people have said is he has a very strong arm.
I get the angst over the QB position, I’m nervous in general as well, but I just don’t understand such strong emotions based of Sirmon not being the guy.
It comes down to the fact that Sirmon is the only guy with the tools to be elite. Morris and Thomson don’t have the physical ability to be a threat against elite teams. The goal should be for UW to win against great teams. We saw what happened when Browning played against top defenses, he almost always shit the bed.
It sounds like Sirmon just doesn’t have the consistency to be the starter. Is that just an inherent lack of ability or did we fuck up his development? Probably a little of both. A lot of people on here would rather run with Sirmon since he at least has the potential to be great, instead of choosing the safe bet who is better right now but closer to their ceiling.
Just my 2 cents.

Participant11/02/2020 at 3:11 pm #20316I’m curious about Culp not being in the depth chart. He seemed to be in a lot of the videos that were posted on twitter. I wonder if he is a permanent H back. I really hope they can get him involved, he is great with the ball in his hands.

Participant10/28/2020 at 1:32 pm #20275I guess my argument against we are not a national brand is the fact 3 of the last 4 years we have appeared in major
bowl games. 2016 Peach bowl final 4. 2017 fiesta bowl, 2018 rose bowl.Recruits should know about us at least somewhat now. Especially with guys from our program doing well in the NFL
We will never be a bigger draw for Texas kids than, Texas, A&M, Oklahoma, any upper third SEC team, etc. It’s good for picking up guys when we miss on our top targets because high school football in Texas is a step above the west coast, but other than that it has very low return on investment. Texas kids don’t give a shit that we have been to good bowl games. We lost all of them. They think we are soft.

Participant10/28/2020 at 7:46 am #20265This was really well done! Great analysis. I didn’t realize just how bad the run game was last year. This also just adds evidence that Newton is not suited to be a 25 carry a game bellcow. Hope to see a lot of Cam Davis this year.
