I’ll take Anthony Jones.
We’re good on the Edge.

Yeah they are saying it’s very unlikely he transfers… which makes me think we are in great position to reel him in
Aaaand like Clockwork Henry enters the portal proving yet again that Dawgman is the George Constanza of football sites. Just 180 % flip their guess and you’re probably right.
I only re-watch the Arizona game and the second halves of the Utah and Stanford games. Easy to be optimistic about this team next year if that’s what you do.
The only reason why we overlooked Stanford was because they looked horrible without Mills, Wilson and Weddington to start the season. Their Defense looked pretty bad as well but the Cal game wasn’t a fluke they played their best game of the season.
NOW.
If you looked at the previous Stanford vs Cal game and then someone told you UW would be without Bowman, Puka, Bynum. I’m not sure anyone would tell you that’s a sure fire win.
There were a lot of purple tinted glasses viewing the Stanford. Kudos to Stanford for realizing that ZTF and Small inexperience at the edge would be exploited and for Mills making the right read and throw on 3rd Down.
I’m proud of how the boys played in the 2nd half. I think many of were looking forward to the Oregon game because we wanted to see how the coaches adjusted first half defense so we didn’t fall behind so quickly and honestly the offense responded to more uptempo play calling. I think they were getting ready to let the offense just get after it for a full game.
What a saga. He should leave. TN won’t be any food considering the players that have left.
Nope he said he’s not committed anywhere
Chicken Littles
Osborne got screwed for gods knows why.
Spiker has talent but for gods sake he can’t gain weight.
UW isn’t going to freak out. Didn’t you all watch the damn Fiesta Bowl?
Iowa State pretty much used their TE in place of WR.
Also Taj Davis isn’t in the portal he opted out. He can easily return to the team.
We’re fine and quite honestly I agree with @ballz it makes the UW an enticing place for
good recruits that want to see the field early.
You think the UW isn’t going to tell Tobias, CJ and Darius Clemons about how clean the path
to the field is?
It’s a risk of course a few untimely injuries can change the game but that’s always the case.
Cleans up the WR rotation.
I like the opportunity to get Rome or Jalen on the field more opposite of Puka.
Bynum and Spiker in the slot and Sawyer Racanneli doing a combo of both perhaps.
Just Brilliant
Provided Spring Practice can happen on time and Summer camp the UW will be much improved.
I think the coaches did the right thing in scaling things back for a lot of new players.
You have brimming confidence going into the off season with DMo, Rome, Jalen and ZTF. They
know they can play and gotta be looking at a full season as something they’re ready to
prepare for in the off season.
Run Blocking will improve. I think the line will stay the same save for Murao coming in at a
Guard spot to get some reps.
Watched some videos on OL technique in traps and other stuff and it’s easy to why Coaches keep
it simple initially. A missed block could turn into losing our QB or RB for the season.
In a short season with new schemes ..nah that’s a risk Coach Huff isn’t taking.
I swear some of y’all want us to be an Air Raid team. Just admit it.
Avalos improved Oregon’s defense immediately.
I still wouldn’t put him as a top flight DC but he was better than
they had before and I see Oregon as a hiring another dud.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see them hire another dude. Mario talks
all this stuff about physicality but he doesn’t love defense like
a coach with a defensive background.
They could get lucky and fail forward but the odds are against it.
We’ll be fine with Ryan Otton and Chance Bogan coming in next year.
LSU got blown out by Mike Leach coming off a national title run. There are a lot of dumb ass defensive coordinators at top schools who are behind Jimmy Lake’s curve. That’s why Bama wanted him as their DC. If you can get the right combination of elite DB’s combined with Jimmy Lake’s coaching and an elite pass rush, you can still dominate any offense in college football. Defense wins championships.
Yup. See Florida in the SEC Championship game. Great offense but Bama focuses on Defense as much as offense.
UW isn’t going to neglect offense but Jimmy’s recruiting focus is clearly skewed towards Defense. I don’t get the slavish love or Oregon considering they don’t run the high octane offense of Chip Kelly anymore.
Another thing I see is this notion that Oregon is recruiting WAY better than everyone else. The numbers say UW and USC are right there and a couple of players busting or overachieving changes the recruiting class.
I saw Penis Sewell claiming Oregon was going to win a National Championship within 5 years. Why did he and 4 other chumps opt out then when they had a chance to do it this year? It’s because kids that go to Oregon are about themselves more than the typical team. They can’t wait to leave where the UW has a bunch of guys coming back because they actually like the team.
It’s pretty simple here.
Mario as a former OL player thinks about the game offensively.
Jimmy as a DB thinks about the game from a Defensive perspective
Oregon was #1 in Total Offense
UW was #1 in Total Defense.
I’m always going to go with the team that focuses on Defense but it’s what
travels on the road and what historically determines the winner.
I watched the Oregon vs Auburn game again to look at the OL Blocking
Even as a UW fan I’ll gladly admit that OL could block. They had so many
interesting movements and blocking schemes they keep the Auburn Defense on
its heels for most of the game. Verdell looked a lot faster. I’m wondering
if he had a lower body injury.
The 2019 Duck team was a lot like the ‘16 Dawgs. They had upper classmen tired of
losing and wanting to go out big.
The problem with recruiting better is that the expectations go up for the team
while the player desire to work hard goes down as they assume that their talent
will just carrry the day.
I don’t care how young the team is the Ducks regressed at almost every level.
The program and the fan base deserved this season. They took a 3 pt win in 2018 and a 5 pt win in 2019 and suddenly they’re crowing like they blew us out or something. Bama blew Georgia out by 3 scores. Don’t brag to us about a single score win.
Either way Huff will get a guy that is the heir apparent after Troy F.
I’m kind of done with recruiting until NCAAFB stops their rectal cranial inversion
and movies to an 8 Team Playoff with auto qualifiers for Conference Champs.
The Blue Bloods know that their recruiting advantage evaporates the minute that happens
and inevitable because are very unhappy with today’s system. Bowls have proliferated
to the point where most are useless and kids opt out.
College Football needs the hype equivalent of a March Madness.
Dawgman is a business. They sell the sizzle.
Jimmy isn’t recruiting he’s running the program. Until Coach Huff starts missing his targets I’m not worried. Huff fielded one of the best OL in the Pac12
We’re simply going to sign another great OL class
Dawgman. Seriously?
I love the way Davies covers. The talent is evident but it’s
obvious watching his HUDL that he’s slower than he should be
to win at the next level and too small to be slow footed.
Whoever is recruiting and coaching for Northwestern’s backend should get a call.
For about the 1000x he is rumored to be looking to transfer from Tennessee. This one seems to have more traction from the others though since so many transfers have happened already, the NCAA investigation, and the dagger is the head coach is flying to Cali just to meet with him and his family to convince him to come back next year.
Considering making the trip – assuming fans will be allowed.
Odds that happens?
Positives, negatives discussed along with rants about the AD, our brand, etc.
Is he going to Utah? They’ve been on a tear bringing kids in.
Found this on another site very interesting I wonder he was soo forceful.
Bolton’s side of the story
“In June before his senior year of high school, Bolton went on an unofficial visit to the University of Washington and felt like he had found a good fit. Bolton was realistic — he knew some schools considered him as an undersized linebacker — s…[Read more]
