Apparently some people think he could play in the opener.

That would seem to be a record breaking recovery time for that type of injury. I’d hate for them to rush him back and put him at risk of re injuring himself. Even if the doctors give the green light I’d hold him out until conference play at the earliest.

I’m a PT, and I would be stunned if he is able to play against Montana. 5 months would be a near miraculous rehab timeline. Like AP running for 2000 yards 7 months after ACL repair miracle

I don’t know how it would even be possible.

Maybe they would just use him on 3rd downs (early in season)?

@thapurplefunk What would be a reasonable better than expected timeline for him to return, post-injury?

@chest, returning to competition 6 month post op would be a pretty fast healing timeline, but maybe not completely out of the realm of possibility.

Assuming he had surgery in early May, 6 months would put his return around November.

If that’s the timeline, he’s probably just started working on squatting, lunging, getting ROM fully restored, started doing some light impact control work but isn’t running yet.

Him playing in November and being 100% in November are two very different things. If he does it, kudos to him and the rehab staff for getting it done!

What does that have to do with anything?

Do you realize we are onto plan C and D guys at most positions?

Get the best players and prospects. That doesnt mean only 4 and 5 stars but you have to get some of those guys.
