Nick Rolovich who has been coaching at Hawaii. I liked Hawaii’s offense the last couple years and the run n shoot style will fill the Leach air raid style nicely IMHO. Solid hire for an up and comer, but the only problem is he has to live and recruit players to Pullman.

Has never coached in a P5 conference though. Not even as an assistant so he could struggle in recruiting even more so than Leach was.
He already has good practice getting killed by UW as well.

Pretty meh hire. He should help them recruit the state of Hawaii well tho. But they won’t be beating UW for anybody of the trail with that hire.

Honestly I think it’s a good hire. They need a unique/gimmicky system to succeed there, and this coach will bring that. I also think his system will fit well with who they already have on the roster.
WSU will probably never get another coach who fit them more perfectly than Mike Leach, so this is probably about as good as they could do. Hiring a coordinator from somewhere like the Big 10 or SEC would never work with the type of talent they are able to bring in.
All that being said, I know of a GREAT DC candidate for them who knows the area well and would give them great inside knowledge on how to beat UW…
