In 2016 we had a whopping 12 guys who were All-Pac 12. In 2018, it was 7 (not counting ST). Hunter Bryant and Trey Adams played key roles at the end of that season and would have been All-Pac-12 if fully healthy. Last season, if we count by the AP team, it was 7.
Let’s look at the potential for next season:
Consensus All-Pac-12
Cade Otton
Jackson Kirkland
Trent Mcduffie
Zion Tupuola Fetui
Eddie Ulofshio
Non Consensus
Ryan Bowman- 2nd Team in 2019 & #5 rated on our D in 2020
Henry Bainivalu- AP 2nd Team in 2020 & #2 in PFF guards rating
Most Likely New
Kyler Gordon- 2 time Honorable Mention
Laiatu Latu- He was going to be ZTF before he got hurt
Victor Curne- #3 rated OT by PFF, #2 returning. Rated our best OL.
Bookie- If he plays with discipline, he’s way better than Myles Bryant
Tuli Letuligasenoa- Was #4 returning DL by PFF in 2020.
Dylan Morris/Sam Huard- If Morris takes a step, he could be a lock for HM & close to 2nd team.
Guys Who We Need to Take a Step (no order):
Sam Taimani
Fatuui Tuitele
Dom Hampton
Julius Irvin
Cam Williams
Asa Turner
Danny Heimuli
Josh Calvert
Savell Smalls
Jalen McMillan
Rome Odunze
Cam Davis
Who in the last category will move into “most likely new” during the season?
My own view is the biggest question is the middle of the defense. The most important guys to rectify that question will be Tuli (needs to be healthy), Danny Hammer, Calvert & the safeties.
