Participant07/29/2020 at 9:03 am #19006This post is not your best effort. Why would any of these kids risk their health in high school when they have nothing left to prove at that level and the opportunity to get a head start on their college career? I hope he enrolls early at UW when he flips.

The Franklin ship has sailed. All the flip talk is from Kim and Ektard trying to keep the blind optimism going. He’s all Duck.

I’m not mad at Franklin. He’s a kid that likes flash and Menlo-Atherton probably isn’t expected to make a state title run so he’s gonna head to college. I’m just really just ribbing him a bit after Emeka and Huard decided to stick with their teams and make another state run.

Participant07/29/2020 at 10:20 am #19015The second Kimmy claimed Franklin, EE and JTT would be Dawgs they’ve all trended away from being Huskies.

No ships have sailed prior to the season. You’re telling me if UW runs the table or a least wins the conference and beats Oregon by 30 points he won’t have second thoughts? Get real dude. It ain’t over till he signs. Especially for a recruit committed to Decommit U.

Participant07/29/2020 at 10:50 am #19018Just because a kid is committed to Oregon right now doesn’t mean he only cares about flash. Perhaps he’s simply a kid who likes winning. Oregon is coming off a peak season and UW is coming off a down season, so naturally he’d be an Oregon lean right now if he thinks Oregon will be a better team than UW while he’s in college. The tables can easily flip after this season when UW proves that to be false. Let’s not talk shit about recruits our coaches would still love to have no matter how unlikely you think it is they flip them.

Participant07/29/2020 at 2:39 pm #19028So he’s not a team player because he’s committing early to help his college program out? As Kim would say “be a better poster”.

We are quoting Kim now here? That dude, with his condascending quips to his customers. You would think that someone who was doing this shit as long as he has would actually have some contacts with real intel.

Participant07/30/2020 at 8:25 am #19051There’s a trend that Husky fans tend to overplay. A bit too much stargazing about kids out of the s state and the in-state kids are all supposed to want to play anywhere but the UW.
I’ve watched Franklin’s video and Emeka’s videos and to me it’s clear that Emeka is more prepared to play D1 than Franklin.
Franklin is 170 ish pounds While he’s running by High School secondary at D1 your better schools have secondary that are larger and faster. Franklin is going to need to get much stronger. You can’t outrun and jump everyone at the next level.
Emeka is really strong. You see it in how crisp his breaks are. He has DeAndre Hopkins level de-acceleration which only comes from having incredible lower body strength. His coordination is exceptional
Franklin to Oregon is a shorter trip for his mother. Proximity favors Oregon for the Franklin family just as UW proximity favors the Egbukas.
People are fooled with this notion that we have a better chance with out of state kids than in-state and that’s silly. If a program is committed to winning the Elite local kids stay home most of the time.
I look forward to playing against Franklin.

Yes, he will struggle getting a release against press coverage because he needs to get a lot stronger. Fortunately for him, most college teams aren’t jamming receivers anymore so he should have a solid college career no matter where he goes. But Oregon doesn’t get WR’s drafted and Jim Moorehead’s simplistic high school RPO offense will minimize his draft stock if he signs with them.

Participant07/30/2020 at 10:43 am #19053@Ballz you bring up something that I’ve been wanting to talk about. Bump and run coverage.
We have developed a strong reputation for developing DB. We’re deep at the position with talent and length. I’m hoping we bring more pressure and put our DB in positions to get interceptions. Tryon is going to disrupt, Bowman will disrupt, Levi will disrupt. It’s time to send Keith Taylor and Molden out to the league in style.

His parents wanted him to go to UW.
Yeah, Emeka is better but in recruiting we have to be greedy.
Troy was basically a silent commit. Oregon flipped him without a WR coach.

I agree 100%. UW is too conservative with their DB’s. Has their secondary usually been good? Yes, but it could be dominant and force 3-and-out after 3-and-out if they play more aggressive. They always play zone with a bail technique. They need to play more man with press technique at the line of scrimmage and suffocate receivers while also disrupting the QB’s timing. They have the talent to do it.
The only way to shut down an RPO attack is to allow the ILB’s to play aggressive against the run and jam the fuck out of all receivers at the line of scrimmage; prevent them from running a route if you can. That way if the QB hands the ball off, it gets stuffed. If they pull it looking to throw it, the WR isn’t open because he’s jammed up, the ILB’s have more time to get into their drops, and now the QB has nowhere to go with ball and has try to make something happen outside of the structure of the play. No receiver likes running slants versus press man to man coverage with the corner right on their hip. They just don’t.

Participant08/01/2020 at 2:09 am #19097This isn’t NFL free agency. There is a world where we could have both Troy and Emeka! Don’t rationalize losing Troy. Losing him to Oregon is even worse! Not acceptable!

He was a silent commit. And then as a poster you bring up something like well TF and Keith Brown are playing a ton of ‘call of duty’ online, you have got to stay active on this guy…maybe JL needs to be more involved than typical….and all the mods fucking say that kind of thing does not matter. Really?? What has changed? I get that TF and his family had a great relationship with CP….but cmon man.
Now im just bringing up old shit…haha
