For the guys on Twitter giving these recruits facts to help UW’s case on the recruiting trail: Oregon is really promoting and marketing Penei Sewell winning the Outland trophy to help their O-line recruiting efforts. But he’s just one guy, and as great of a player as he is, he was a 5-star recruit who showed up to Oregon as an already elite player. That’s not development. UW greatly outnumbers Oregon in terms of 1st and 2nd team all-conference offensive lineman during the Chris Petersen era. And this not only includes 4-star recruits like Trey Adams and Kaleb McGary, but also 3-star Jake Eldrenkamp and 2-star guys like Coleman Shelton and Nick Harris. Creating a chart to show the discrepancy in all-conference O-lineman between UW and Oregon in recent years and tweeting that at our top O-line recruits is a good idea that our marketing department hasn’t done because they suck. Just a thot for the guys who are already doing this type of stuff on Twitter.

Really good point Ballz about Sewell already being elite.
They lose the other 4 starters. Are any of them going to be high draft picks?
While we are going to have an outstanding class, it sounds like we are behind vs. UO on the OL this year.

In a general sense, I am not too worried about OUR OL class this year. We had the best one in school history in 2020, and if we can get Owen Prentice and another solid tackle we will be fine going into what is probably the best or second best OL class in Washington state history in 2022. It’s just annoying that Oregon is going to pull such a good class this year.

Yup, UW has offered four O-lineman in the 2022 class and all of them are from Washington and 4-star caliber guys. I think they are indeed the best O-line class in the history of the state and UW will get a clean sweep. I like Loane and Connerly as Tackles and Agbo and Luli as Guards. Those guys would deserve and earn the nickname “the Cascade Front”.
We also have to remember how underrated some O-lineman are in high school. Matteo Mele, Victor Curne, and Gaard Memmelaar were all 3-stars, so UW can still pull a really good O-line class for 2021 without as much star power as last class. In-state Tackle William Reed is a guy to keep an eye on his Senior season. He moves pretty well. But I would definitely prefer just beating Oregon’s ass for the guys we’ve already offered.
