On the “Signing Day” thread I posted a response to an assertion by “The Black Rose” about Jimmy Lake and firing Keith Bonaparte.
Where is my post? Still going through approval?
Thanks

Please tell me this is happening. Bonapha is sooo bad.
I’ve had a couple posts swallowed today I think it’s just a system problem.
That being said are you sure you want this????

Your assertion that Lake wouldn’t fire Bonapha because he is black is ignorant and inherently racist.
Holding Assistant coaches accountable is an important part of a head coaches job. So, you’re basically saying that Lake is unable or unwilling to perform this function because of his race. Saying that somebody cannot effectively do their job (or a key part of their job) because of the race speaks for itself.

We have not edited anything @Passion
I will check and see if your post is in a draft and publish it if I can. Thanks for letting us know there are issues guys.
Black Rose & Passion-
I just published your posts. They were listed as pending. I don’t know why.
I was told today that Bohapha and Paopao were our best coaches because they maximize their talent. Have we considered this?
Fucking doogs.

The black coaching fraternity is relatively small in CFB and miniscule at the HC position. If you think an African
American HC, brand new to the job, is going to simply make a clinical termination decision without considering some of the optics and political ramifications, I think you’re being unrealistic. Also, your probably not valuing the bonds of loyalty among coaches and the way people in underrepresented professional networks look out for each other.
I think your approach lacks nuance and is more ignorant than mine.

And you literally called him Keith “Bonaparte.” Carry on.
I posted another response to this thread several hours ago. When will it be approved?

First of all, I called him “Bonaparte” because that is one of the nicknames Husky posters have given him over the years. Yes, I know it’s “Bonapha.”
Secondly, it’s “you’re probably not valuing.” Not “your probably not valuing.” Learn grammar before you start going after spelling errors.
Third, and substantively, Lake surely knows that favoring an underperforming black coach while terminating others (ie Hamdan) would likely break down morale on his staff and quickly brandish Washington as “a place you don’t want to coach.” This would hurt us with a number of important groups, including recruits.
For all we know, Lake may like our RBs on the roster and the incoming recruits. Who knows?
Lastly, I don’t know you, so I am certainly not saying you’re a toothless redneck who drives a pickup with a rebel flag on the bumper. But your assumption wreaks of a stereotype that is absolutely baseless. Lake can easily go out and fill vacant roster spots with whatever qualified coach from whichever race he wants.
I have no idea how Lake will handle his staff. But my hope is that he will look for the best coaches AND look for people that reflect the diversity of players and families that he recruits.
Weak spelling flame, bro. My viewpoints come from working with black professionals in real life, and understanding some of the nuances of race in America. You sound more cloistered than I do.
Also, I think the more commonly used variation on his name was “Bonerpro.”

I seriously doubt that canning KB would be an issue for Lake, since any replacement will certainly be African American as well.

Undoubtedly.
