He might be a nickel corner for us and not a conventional corner.
We might as well take him and see if he can help us instead of leaving scholarships open. Seems like the type of kid who is planning on taking his shot at the NFL after next season. Doesn’t hurt UW scholarship wise if that’s the case.
Risk is low on this one. Ideally I’d like to have at one more body back in the secondary with significant game experience.
Gordon and McDuffie are going to ball out. We know what we have with ASA and Cam but what we need to figure out is who’s going to rise and grab the playing time? Kam Fab, James Smith, Irvin, Elijah Jackson. Hines would be ideal in any regard to adding 30+ games experience to a secondary that is an unknown quantity after a few solid vets.
Eklund thinks we are the leader so that’s almost a guarantee he won’t be coming here now.
Maybe he slides in for Molden & Kyler goes to safety?
This is a guy we need. He’s at least better than anyone other than McDuffie and Gordon.

I guess some people forgot how bad our back up secondary looked in garbage time against Arizona. Those guys are talented but looked absolutely lost out there and were terrible at locating the ball in the air. Bookie would probably instantly make the secondary better at whatever position they put him at if they get him.

My guess is as long as there are no last minute snafu’s we should have him.
On one hand I’m getting flaskbacks to when Sark landed Travell Dixon from Alabama and he was a nothing. Although I think he still managed to play in the NFL for a year or two.
On the other hand, you gotta love bringing in a starter who was a 5 star recruit given the ability that Lake has in developing DB’s.

He was a starter on a playoff team. Watch his tape. He has potential.
Even beyond his talent he is a physical player and intense. I think he’d really amp up the secondary this year. McDuffie and Gordon are reserved players. Bookie would be out there with his hair on fire. I think it’d be a good match from a chemistry and talent perspective
