.Think as a whole this is the lowest I feel about UW sports in well ever. Even during that Gilby/Ty stinch at least Basketball was rolling. Mens basketball is the worst I’ve seen.
Whether we want to admit it or not Oregon has certainly surpassed us again in football. Recruiting took a major step backwards when it was tee’d up for us have best class ever.
I’m finding it harder and harder to care when nobody who works for the school gives a damn.
UW Pac-12 leading 10 straight bowl game appearances has been snapped. At least UW continues their winning seasons streak to 11 in a row.
Crazy from 1977-2003 no losing seasons at UW. 2010-present no losing seasons at UW. 2004-2009 6 straight losing seasons. Shows what a historical fluke/collapse that era was.
I hate when Oregon says we stuck in the past! Bullshit! Only program in conference to have a winning season in every decade in the 2010’s, did that in 1990’s and 1980’s. Even during this 25 year run by Oregon they haven’t gone an entire decade without a losing season.
To go three of four decades where entire decade you have a winning season speaks to the consistency of this program!
I’ll ask anyone this. Has our athletic department ever mentioned those facts ever?!!!
We are a rowing, golf, soccer and softball school. Sure makes me want to donate the big dollars to the AD. Matter of fact the only way to get better results is to stop donating money. That would make Jen wake up.

Men’s basketball and women’s basketball are in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it. The entire time when Romar was sucking we all knew once he was fired that next coach would immediately win. Hopkins inherited upper class 4 stars Dickerson, Thybulle, Crisp and Green plus inherited Nowell.
Hopkins recruiting and player development has been awful.
As for football, short term think we’ll improve. Due to the great recruiting of 2018-2020 we’ll have a ton of talent next few years. However, I fear the bottom will drop out on Lake. He has to start winning some recruiting battles against P5 schools. Given what we just achieved in recent memory this recruiting class is horrific.
I don’t know if Hopkins can recover from this tailspin. It’s unfortunate because
I like him. I can’t see having recruiting success from Elite players.
This year is a Boom/Bust class. I like the size of the class. Class with a lot of
skill players IMO bust harder than projects that have kids with size.
I think if we want Sam to have a fantastic career at the UW we have to let him
Redshirt and we have to a really good OL. You don’t even need a bunch of 5 Star
WR Sam is a special talent he’ll elevate the starters play.
You can’t have Sam under pressure like Slovis was in the Championship game. That was
ridiculous
The UW doesn’t want to recruit like the Blue Blood schools. I get it but if that’s the
case then the coaching has to extra crisp and that’s where much of our angst comes from
If Gregory is gonna keep his job despite being a liability in recruiting then he needs
to show he’s drilling the proper fundamentals and execution of the scheme into players.
Junior Adams and Will Harris have to improve the consistency of their units.
Football is trending way up. Most talented roster we’ve had since I’ve been a fan. Stud RS Freshman QB with the best QB in the country for the 2021 class coming in as well. Very promising new offensive coordinator. A clear improvement in team confidence and resiliency under Jimmy Lake. So many big, physical, and athletic dudes being brought into the program through recruiting. Jimmy is building this team to look like an NFL team and I love it. UW’s brand of football is becoming more physical. The sky is the limit. It’s an exciting time to be a UW football fan.
The basketball program is trash as fuck and I think Hopkins needs to go. The local talent does not believe in him and all the best recruits are leaving. If you can’t recruit Seattle, you can’t coach here. It’s that simple. Both the men’s and women’s basketball coaches should be fired.
I know this may be sacrilegious to some but Covid taking out the UW
and the players looking Oregon players dancing around with the “Back to
Back Champions” is only going to make their offseason workouts that much
better.

My only qualms about the UW team is the Safety position. Sirmon isn’t even
as bad as people claim. I think many of saw the timid plays of Asa Turner
and said “it’s just a freshman thing” this year there’s zero excuses. Kids
are supposed to get bigger and stronger so that they can become more physical.
I know Coach K was not happy just the rotation changes alone let us know they
were searching for a kid to make a play. Next year is WIDE open for Mackell Esteen
and Jacobe Covington. They may be young but if they go out there and play like
they want to leave it all on the field they’ll take reps.
Won’t be surprised if McCutcheon makes the 2-Deep at Slot DB. It’ll be interesting to
see what young guys take a step forward. Irvin has to make a move I think he’s ok 4
now …his father made some very nice comments about Jimmy and the program so I think
they’re mentally in a good spot.

Why should Sam RS? Next year is likely the best group of WR’s he’ll ever throw to while at UW with Bynum and Ty Jones being 5th year players, Puka in year 3 plus McMillan and Rome. Who knows with Osborne/Spiker as well.
As for OL our OL next year will be a veteran group that blocked pretty well this year in pass protection.
