trash uniforms Oregon just dropped? Gotta love shameless cultural appropriation and pandering. Oregon has like 2.5 Poly kids on their whole roster. Won’t it be a little awkward having mostly black and white kids wearing uniforms with Polynesian tribal designs on them? They’ve also told black recruits like Justin Flowe not to go to USC because they “favor Poly players there”. Add some hypocrisy on top.

Some people just can’t help themselves and have to rip off other people’s culture for their own financial benifit. Mario also got his old college buddy Dwayne Johnson to be his token Poly and give those uniforms his stamp of approval. Oh, so it must be okay and not offensive at all to any other Poly people if the Rock says it’s okay. Riiiiiiggghhht.

What happened to Kayvon Thibadeaux by the way? He seems to have disappeared so far this season. Not developing like they hoped? I’m shocked! “3-star” recruit Zion Tupuola-Fetui has done more in one game than Kayvon has done in two games this season and “3-star” recruit Joe Tryon is already on his way to the league. And didn’t Kwiatkowski also recruit and develop Demarcus Lawrence back at Boise State and isn’t Lawrence the highest paid edge rusher in the league right now? Imagine what Coach K could do with a legit 5-star recruit. Think about it JT. WOOF!

I agree, he made some splash plays last season but almost none of them were one-on-one versus a tackle. They used scheming to get him some free releases which showed off his speed but NFL scouts see through that stuff. He has yet to impress me in terms of actually beating tackles one-on-one which is what gets you paid. I think he’s soft and if he can’t win with his speed he pretty much disappears the rest of the game. I think our tackles will handle him with ease.

Hopefully, Flowe gets over his injury, he seems like a promising player. He looked really good in the Polynesian bowl in February too.

I’ve been saying Flowe wasn’t gonna do anything early.

His highlight reel was him supplexing small kids and roughing guys up in no pad drills. He absolutely mugged Mark Redman in coverage at one of the HS post season games.

If you were looking for tape showing Flowe’s uncanny instinct, the ability to shed blocks then you were going to be unhappy.

Next take a kid who is on the larger size in HS at 230lbs and now place him on the field where he’s now with the smaller group and you see why he’s buried in depth. Wouldn’t be surprised if he transfer portals

As trash as those jerseys are recruits love them. Even JTT (poly) commented that they were fire. Oregon knows recruiting/marketing. Wish uw would step to this level. We have a huge poly culture and never let recruits know about it

I have no idea what the Polynesian culture is in Eugene, having never lived there. I just thought it was funny that Ballz was saying there were 2.5 Poly guys on the team. I imagine it would be difficult to find ANY D-1 program west of the Rockies with that few, much less a team like Oregon, who has been recruiting Hawaii for years. When I visited Hawaii several years ago, I saw one Beaver hat, one Husky sweatshirt, and a legion of people in Duck apparel. I know this is not news to anyone here, but Ballz pulls most things he says right out of his hind end.

Also, I seriously doubt that Cristobal is telling players not to go to a school because they play too many Poly guys, while his assistant head coach is himself a Poly guy recruiting a ton of Poly guys. Either they are pandering to Poly players, or they aren’t. Recruiting is full of pandering from everyone, and even this thread is in some way an attempt to pander to JTT in hopes that he will see through Oregon’s pandering in favor of Husky fan’s pandering. Just admit that you want him to come to your school, and they want him to come to their school. Probably he will go to neither. But he did seem to like the uniforms.
