Is this the same guy that wrote an entire article on how Kyler Manu was adequately filling the shoes of BBK?

Participant12/14/2019 at 4:09 pm #1024I agree they should skip the bowl its better for both bryant and adams and for the team. Its what is known as a win-win.

Maybe I am old school. Can’t picture Steve Emtman skipping the Rose Bowl.

yeah you’re old school. no sense in these kids risking injury if they know for sure they’re leaving. This game just isn’t important. And its better to get those who will be on the team next year additional practice playing together in game situations.

Last year Taylor Rapp skipped the Rose Bowl.
Besides, what should it matter? It’s your last college game with your teammates

Participant12/15/2019 at 11:56 am #1033Didn’t like the Rapp move. Vegas Bowl, skip it. I don’t buy the last game thing. You don’t keep in contact with 95% of the guys and they aren’t worth jeopardizing your financial future.

I’m not sure what is humorous about it.
He tried but couldn’t go. 4+ months later he had a very slow time at pro day. It was a significant injury. We’ve also heard the same from those very close to the situation.
It’s borderline slanderous what some are saying.

I see. Well, you should come up with a list of bowl games that it’s OK for players to skip, and those that aren’t OK.

The only ones that are inexcusable for missing are playoff games. The rest everyone who is planning on leaving and would be drafted in 1-2 round shouldn’t play. You can always get hurt anyways a la sid jones at his pro day but theres no reason to risk injury when u dont need to and as I’ve said before its better for the team you dont play as well.

Keymaster12/15/2019 at 8:30 pm #1052Yeah IMO bowl games that aren’t NY6 / Playoff games can and in many cases should be skipped by players declaring for the draft. ESPECIALLY if they have a history of injuries or are currently recovering from injuries.
I get the supporting the team and all that but if it makes you feel better about it, a bowl has very little positive impact on draft stock but can have massive ramifications if someone gets hurt. We want players to get drafted as high possible as that is one of our huge selling points. Winning a bowl game is great but having a 1st round pick to brag to recruits about is pretty damn good.

Always knew Percy was a Doog but holy crap that is bad. Do you think Percy came up with that or UW came to him to pitch the puff piece on Manu?
Cause there is a big difference. I can get behind writing a puff piece to keep access but if it was actually his idea that Manu could fill the shoes then holy smokes he should quit his job now.

I’m tired of this narrative that was started on Hardcore Husky that Rapp skipped the Rose Bowl. He was clearly hurt and judging by his bad 40 times at combine it was a lingering injury.

Hugh Millen talks out of his ass sometimes. I had his brother tell me he was legitimately injured.

Since when do we value Millen’s opinion as the be all end all?
