What a thud. Well, Jimmy, hopefully you know something the rest of us don’t, because right now this is perceived as a dogshit hire.

How will this impact our off-seasson natty chances?

There are two ways this can go:
1) Jimmy is a genius and found a diamond in the rough.
2) This is a disastrous hire that will cost us most of the 2021 class.
Honestly, I don’t see a middle ground here.

This is a mind boggling hire. And if Softy is to be believed, he was Top 3 on Jimmy’s board. Makes no sense at all.
Meanwhile Moorhead is in Eugene interviewing with the Ducks today. I’m not jealous at all….

I’m willing to LIPO, but I still have questions.
Will he also be a position coach on top of OC? He also coached some good TEs at Penn St. so that could settle that position and bring in some QB guru to take full advantage of that very talented room.
What kind of offense will he install? I know nothing about this guy and how he calls plays.
Can he recruit? Looking at his history with Penn St. he landed some above average recruits, but they were all within striking distance of the school and you could argue it’s the guys a school with their reputation should always land if they offer. He’s an East coast guy, can he make the transition to how things are done out west with probably very little HS coach connection out here?

LIPO no one knows how this hire will turnout. He has both NFL and College experience. Was a Franklin disciple. Ill reserve my judgement for the end of the season.

Moorhead had Trace McSorely and Saquon Barkley. Who couldn’t improve the offense with these guys? If PSU doesn’t have Barkley and McSorely ….do they still beat us in the bowl game?

We have so many advantages over other schools, but we are #1 in the nation in fucking ourselves. It goes back to hiring Barbara Hedges. Decades of stupid damn personnel decisions form the head coach to the AD to assistant coaches.
We are the toughest cowboy in the saloon that simply punches himself in the balls.

So you’re saying he can’t coach up QB’s? Wasn’t Hackenberg a 5-star recruit and one of the top prospect in his class?
