I haven’t listened to it yet but it’ll probably be the same talking points as the interviews he’s done locally. Will come back with some thoughts after I listen.

Participant02/12/2020 at 2:36 pm #6387Listened to the interview. Nothing groundbreaking or new. A few takeaways:
-Levi, Molden, Sirmon, and Morris are emerging as team leaders
-Reiterated how much he benefited from his time in the NFL and thinks Donovan did as well
-Offense will be a mix of pro style and spread concepts. It will look similar to what LSU did this year. I expect a lot of OCs all over the country are going to be studying LSU closely this offseason.
-They’re still scouring the transfer portal for a QB but aren’t going to take a just to take a guy
-Emphasized the importance of in state recruiting
-I chuckled that he used the typical white guy description that we all joke about “the type of guy who you’d want your daughter to marry” to describe Budda. -

Participant02/12/2020 at 3:36 pm #6388In every interview since JodoMojo was accidentally hired, Jimmy been overmilking the collective months they worked in the NFL for grim teams. It’s not like that’s super-rare among college coaches. Clearly he’s using it as a beard.

Participant02/12/2020 at 5:02 pm #6391Color me wholly unimpressed with his thoughts on what the offense will look like.
We’re going to run, run, run the ball a lot like an old school pro style offense, but also we know the spread is a thing, and oh yeah, LSU was great!
I anticipate we’ll all be furious about how many times the offense goes three and out after running the ball on first and second down. If you think watching the Seahawks offense is frustrating…whew, I pray I’m wrong.

Yeah I mean I watched LSU a good deal this year (as we all did because they were on all the time) and LSU spread it out far more than any other “pro” system I’ve seen.
People may label that as pro since they had a guy from the Saints on the staff, but it was a spread offense.
We can say we are going to be like that all we want, but when you’re trying to sign 3 scholarship TEs in a single class so that you can have six on the roster, as well as a walk-on that plays a lot, you aren’t trying to run any form of a spread. You’re running traditional pro-style. Be honest.
