The stubborness Jimmy and Jon Don is showing with it is concerning. In two of three games it’s either been less successful as the game has went on (Beavs) or not at all (Utah)
I won’t even get into this philosophy working against teams like we played in the last 3 NY6 Bowls, but even in the Pac-12 trying continually to run blast into 8 men boxes for 2 yard gains is problematic against the following teams at different levels.
Utah will do exactly what they did to us last night as long as Kyle W. is there
SC and even Oregon imo recruit well enough (even if poorly coached) to make it difficult to have game long success with it.
Shaw/Smith/Wilcox/Herm will all say thank you very much for helping us with our game plan by shortening it, shrinking the talent gap advantage, and helping us keep it close going into the 4th quarter.
That’s 4 of 5 North teams and top 2 teams from the South. I get you have to jam it up there if that’s your identity, but to continually have us behind the sticks at 2nd and 8 or third 5/6 is no bueno.
