Other than not losing any of Pete’s commits after he took over, has there been any positive news for the program since Jimmy took over?

Through 14+ months these are the biggest milestones
-Fired Cooper Petagna for no reason and replaced him with someone completely unqualified
-Whiffed on nearly every top target in the ’21 class and signed the most disappointing class (relative to expectations) in recent memory
-Lost the best DC in the conference and replaced him with BG. I still can’t believe this actually happened
-Lost arguably the most dynamic skill player on the roster
-“Won” the division after almost losing to the Beavers at home and needing a miracle comeback to beat Utah.

I guess he should be commended for not having Sam Huard decommit so that’s some positive news. But seriously, calling his tenure a disaster is generous. I know many fans are expecting a good season this fall due to the returning talent but he’s given me nothing to be optimistic. I hope I’m wrong but I see 7-5 or worse until he’s fired.

I forgot to add, in the year 2020 he decided the best offensive scheme is to run a prehistoric tin heavy system with multiple TEs and a FB/HB on the field for most plays. Even Pete Carroll is evolving by hiring a guy from the McVay tree. Good luck selling any WR or QB recruits going forward on playing in this scheme, Jimmy!

3-1, North division champs, culture improvement, good first recruiting class, vastly better QB play from Morris than we saw from Eason or Browning in ’17 and ’18, offense trending in a positive direction, veteran players with NFL draft potential returning for one more season because they believe in what Lake is building, some nice additions from the transfer portal.

The smart ones are attracted to pro-style offenses in college that will get them prepared for the NFL. One of the QB’s we’re recruiting, Drew Allar, is probably going to choose Penn State over UW, who also run pro-style offense. Ohio State, Clemson, and Alabama run pro-style offenses as well. Off field results since JL took over last 13 months overall have been abysmal.

Stealing the Asst. RB coach from Carolina and making him the OC, Taking interns and making them part of staff, poaching a coach from Vanderbilt. Losing PK for 400k a year instead of the original thesis of Texas doubling his salary, doing a “nationwide” 3 week search for a new DC, only to circle back to BG who is still waiting for a former player to congrat. him on the promotion, etc.

Recruiting we finished 5th in the conference and the fence JL talked about in keeping the local kids home has a hole in it the size of the Grand Canyon. Two of 4 22 recruits couldn’t decommit fast enough once Oregon and SC offered them.

Biggest wins I can think of is getting Cade and Jaxson to come back this season.

The only thing is Jimmy did improve the culture. The team played its best when they were down and had to let it loose.

Recruiting has been close to an F grade so far.

Hires are uninspiring but let’s wait till there is a full season.

McMillan is from San Joaquin and even he admitted Fresno players don’t get the attention

Puka’s gaudy numbers put him on the map but doing it in Orem isn’t doing it in CIFS

Puka was too heavy. Excessive weight causes injury and robs quickness.

Put me on record for claim chowder that BG won’t have any drop off from Coach K.

Frankly I wasn’t impressed with the Defensive calls against Utah and Stanford. Bob has
had success as DC at Willamette and Cal. If he can do it there ..he can damn sure do
it here at the UW.

UW was going to start Kevin Thompson. He hurts a rib and you have to put a guy in there with zero
game experience. We certainly weren’t going to go bombs away under these circumstances.

Decommits

I don’t really care as long as they’re early. As for Anthony Jones and Sir Mells …I’m embarrassed
for their families. Me personally I wouldn’t continue to recruit them. As a parent I wouldn’t let my
kids commit early and I’d instruct them to keep the comments to a minimum.

Parents have to guide the process and prevent their kids from looking like wishy washy nincompoops.

We beat Bob Gregory twice and most of the most of the losing games weren’t even close.

Some one explain how BG beating our asses over 8 years is crashing and burning?

UW recruiting is EASY by comparison to what Tedford and BG had to build at Cal where the
University just doesn’t care that much.

Those are some true powerhouse UW teams that BG took down!

UW’s guys dug deep and made plays when it counted. We were down 3 points to Utah with a whole quarter to go. It wasn’t some choke by them.

Came pretty close to beating Stanford too after being dominated to a 21 point halftime lead.
