It’s inevitable.

His call on Morris is looking good.

Participant11/21/2020 at 8:29 pm #20767We never thought he was crazy.
What was crazy was Husky fans that couldn’t see the strategy. Some of y’all …I swear to God you haven’t watched enough football.

So many people want so badly for Donovan to be bad so that they can be right.
It’s really unfortunate.

Keymaster11/21/2020 at 9:36 pm #20770The hire of Donovan has hurt our recruiting. It’s undeniable.
That can be reversed if we have a good season and the offense looks like it did tonight.
It was and is too early to judge the hire beyond the initial impact on recruiting.

Keymaster11/21/2020 at 9:46 pm #20771There was nothing before tonight to give us any reason to think this offense would be a success. There was nothing damning either but there was definitely a net negative with Donovan’s past and first performance. Today he proved he has up-leveled and can run an effective offense. Now I want to see him continue to be dynamic and sell to recruits but I am far more optimistic tonight than this morning.

Data i respect and generally agree with your info and Twitter swag… I just feel like saying we had nothing to think that way could go either way depending on perspective and expectations. Anyway just poking the “dawg” and happy to see what we all hoped to see last week

Participant11/21/2020 at 10:00 pm #20775I know it’s a short season but seems like we should see more than two games before we judge Donovan’s performance here. Maybe AZ was just bad tonight or maybe OSU is good.

Participant11/21/2020 at 10:04 pm #20777Jon don offense looked great to me tonight. I’m no football expert but it def appeared to have AZ on their heels all night. Love the deep ball shots even tho none hit. I still think there is a lot left in this playbook that we haven’t seen yet too. There was no need to go too deep into the playbook tonight. I could see more rpo’s and Morris using his legs down the road

Participant11/21/2020 at 11:47 pm #20779Besides the apple Cups, I haven’t seen a scrimmage like that since maybe 2017 Cal game, but really this game looked like a 2016 type of beatdown.
Gunnell had 45.yards.of.offense at one point in the game when we were up 24-0.
I don’t know if this zona team is good, even sticking with SC last week, but I know their offense doesn’t suck.

Participant11/22/2020 at 12:28 am #20782The best part was the Dazed and Confused look on Gunnell’s face. Can you imagine the feeling of taking USC to the wire and feeling some sort of way and then playing UW and you’ve got 45 yards of offense and you can’t really see a way out.

His call on Morris is looking good.
Sav’ell Smalls dad Joseph Butler a year ago messaged me that Dylan Morris not Jacob Sirmon would be our starter. He was certain Jacob Eason would declare(he was right) and that Morris was better than Sirmon having seen his son play with and or against both over the years.

Participant11/22/2020 at 7:49 am #20787Gunnel was seeing ghosts and I loved every second of it. We haven’t been able to do that to a qb in while. D line with tons of pressure and a lot can be attributed to the secondary locking down all the wrs.
Morris looks like he has all the tools. Just needs to get in sync on his deep balls and then watch out. Def has a strong arm for a smaller guy

Participant11/22/2020 at 11:59 am #20794Best game (not counting 4 quarter) we have had since 2016. I feel like I was wrong on both Morris and Donovan. That offense looked really good.
This recruiting cycle is still inexcusable, which I think is where a lot of the frustration started and spilled out in other areas. Have a chance to salvage with Emeka and maybe even JTT.

I’m feeling like we’re going to have attrition in the WR corps. Emeka is likely going to be a must get because I could see Spiker and Osborne moving on and Taj Davis not coming back.
JTT is a really hard read. I feel like it’s either going to be an Elite program like Ohio State or home. Our D will be stacked for years he has the opportunity to get the attention he needs right at home.
Germie Bernard was in attendance and it was CRITICAL that he saw a lively John Don offense live. He has to see himself in that stadium running those plays. The offensive output was right on time.
For 2022 we’re looking good. We’re going to have a massive haul of local OL and it’s appearing like Coach Huff can coach as well as he recruits. There’s a declining amount of reasons why WA OL have to look outside the state. Top program, top coach, top stadium.
