Sounds promising for us…..if we have a good season and offense is promising.

The fact that he tried to backtrack the “us” sounds promising. Maybe we lead. I can only imagine how hard Huard is recruiting this guy. Huard to Emeka would be unstoppable. But again we have to win first man we have to win. John Jonovan holy fuck you better not fuck this up bro you better not fuck this up bro we better win bro.
I think with JTT and EE it’s going to come down to the prevailing belief about the program. In November if the offense is looking capable and there’s buzz about the team I like our chances a lot. Jimmy is a new HC and John Donovan has to prove himself. If they exceed expectations local kids have every reason to stay home.
That was encouraging then I realized if we’re laying our hopes on landing Emeka on Donovan’s ability to put together a competent offense then we’re fucked. The guy was an absolute shit show at Penn State and I doubt spending 4 years as an intern/secretary for the fucking Jacksonville Jaguars did anything to improve his acumen.
Let’s not forget a very important point that some kids, whether premier athletes or not, simply want to get away from home for their college experience. There is so much added pressure for JT and EE to stay home because of their football skills where if they were both brilliant in science we wouldn’t give a fuck where they go. Of course I want them to play for UW but ultimately if they want to get out on their own who could blame them? I’d only be pissed if they played for Oregon.
It is promising, but my mind takes me to the fact that it will hurt even more when he goes elsewhere because this is evidence that he was a fan of UW growing up and we still couldn’t close him.
He is now even more of a must get if we can’t poach Franklin from the Ducks.
No one blames the kids, anyone who does is dumb. Blame the coaches that are becoming millionaires coaching and recruiting. This is their job to get these kids to sign on the dotted line. Yes they may want to get away, but it’s not like the alternative (if our coaches can convince them to stay home) is a hard labor camp.
Get the best players to play at UW, local players are even more crucial though because of the impact they have throughout the years.

People have to understand why the PSU offense was so poor. A PA sports writer was very honest. He said Christian Hackenberg was inaccurate beyond 15. He said the OL had no depth and was poor. Think about that. Hack couldn’t throw long so they constrained the playbook to runs and short passes and even with that Hackenberg was sacked an insane amount of times
You have look an JD’s performance at Vandy for a more accurate assessment of his skills.

Bro… It isn’t that deep, stop the mental gymnastics. I know a bad play caller when I see one, and PSU fans and many writers knew a bad play caller when they saw one in John Donovan. That tells me all I need to know. All this “We didn’t have talent bullshit” is weak.

Can I blame you?
I’m just not stressing anymore about top talent going somewhere else anymore because I realize UW isn’t serious about winning. Why worry when obviously the athletic department and football program don’t have the highest standards about achieving success. I go to games during the season but am going to start dialing back because why should I care when the AD doesn’t? Jimmy Lake hasn’t made one move in six months that makes me think he wants to challenge USC and Oregon much less the Tier 1 schools above them. I hate the Ducks but their AD and fans deserve success so much more than UW and their fans do. We are fine with accepting mediocrity.

Again it’s still too early to tell, but Jimmy looks like he’s gonna suck. His tenure here has Helfrich written all over it.

Right because Jimmy Lake wants to lose and accepts mediocrity. That’s what we’ve known about him since he’s been here. He’s a total loser. He also hired JD because he thinks he sucks at calling plays.
Some of you just need to shut up until you see the product on the field. Saying shit like this makes no sense at all right now. I don’t agree with retaining and extending weak links on the recruiting trail, but I also don’t give a fuck if the results on the field are what I expect. Winning is all that matters. We can bitch about KB and BG all we want but the fact of the matter is, Newton and Davis are going to be really good and the ILB room is pretty stacked with talent. Star ratings are great but it’s about results on the field. Just let it play out before making any judgments.

Jesus Christ. The two of them couldn’t be any more opposite. Helfrich was a beta-male personality who didn’t have head coach charisma and couldn’t inspire his players to play hard for him. He also was a limp dick recruiter. Jimmy is the exact opposite of that. Just stop. Jimmy doesn’t “look” one way or the other. He hasn’t coached a single game yet as a head coach.
Y’all gonna be eating crow (and loving it” this November
I’ll tell you why Jimmy is going to find success. He’s hungry, his brand of football is more brash and raw. Players are going to be able to play without having to feel like Priests out on the field.
I love CP but he was a a bit too much comportment. The team fell asleep before too many games.
