Chris Petersen said he was leaving the program in good hands. The players left are for the most part, are players he recruited and made promises to. Accountability and responsibility are the foundation of his OKG philosophy. Bearing that in mind he should actively consider coming back as an interim coach to save the program from the damage this season will cause in terms of transfers out and poor recruiting.

Given the financial limitations, this may be the only way to salvage the program.

Losing the rest of the games is not improbable or perhaps only getting past a putrid Arizona team and losing the rest is likely.

A bowl game is extremely remote.

The program with the transfer portal and bad recruiting is looking devastation in the face.

peterman isn’t the answer.

There is no optimal answer here. We need some quick fixes to keep the ship afloat.

Its the only thing stopping a player exodus.

there is going to be an exodus regardless. this is going to take a rebuild. might as well start from scratch on the coaches and put together a team of coaches that know what they are doing. the longer this goes on, the worse it will be.

You don’t move ahead by looking back. Blowing it all up would be better than bringing back Petersen.

Something wasn’t right with Petersen latter half of 2018 and 2019.

You don’t even know for sure that some of these assistants didn’t have issues with him. Tons of rumors on what actually went on behind the scenes but bringing him back is just too desperate and I don’t think you’re just going to magically keep these guys because of him and turn this thing around.

To me there’s an element of at least some of these players being overrated. Watching the UCLA replay, just too much arm tackling and soft play. I don’t see how Petersen is going to fix that.

Multitude of issues going on for sure, but either talent development and/or rated talent via rankings is also a major factor in this. list the known dudes on this team. Not projected or based on 4/6 games. I count 3-5 on D and 2 on Offense which includes a projected “first round” OL that has slid into a day 3 guy at this point, as is the tight end from Tumwater.
