Nathan Burrel..I’m all for this. I like that he’s thicker UW doesn’t mind
playing guys who are around 6’2 so long as they can set the edge. Judging from
Cyrus Moss’ comments I think the UW values Burrell’s body type and the St John Bosco
connection. Bishop Gorman just hasn’t been a very good recruiting spot for us. Liberty
on the other hand has been great. -
I’m not a fan of Burrell. He’s too short for the edge and needs to move inside to ILB. There is a reason UW has less competition for Burrell than Moss. Everybody wants Moss because he has the NFL measurables everybody is looking for on the edge. I don’t see Burrell being a take for UW right now and he probably never will be.
I’d love to land that 4-man O-line class Ektard crystal ballad to UW. That would rival the 2020 class for best UW O-line class ever.
Branch to USC would be sickening. That would pretty much secure them the best West coast DB class by a mile. It’s simply ridiculous these kids are listening to the bullshit Dontae Williams is spewing when UW actually has facts and evidence to back their shit up. Who the fuck has Dontae Williams developed? Nobody. USC is trash. Total loser program that wastes talent. It makes no sense as to why they have momentum on the trail right now. How long has Helton been there coach now? They got super lucky just to beat Arizona and ASU and then got their asses kicked in the title game. That’s not a program that’s trending upward. If these elite recruits think they can be the ones to overcome shit coaching and take USC back to the top, they’re incredibly stupid to do so after a decade of other elite recruits choosing to go to USC and then failing to bring USC back. USC ain’t coming back. Their culture is too soft down there.
I think Merriweather is a guy UW is going to have more of a chance with after he sees the offense continue to progress next season. What reason would he have to go to Oregon besides them being the closest school to his home? UW has way better QB talent and way better roster talent overall.
Clemons is an Ohio State lean right now. Oregon doesn’t have a chance unless he waits too long and his top options dry up.
Savaiinea is all Dawg if given a committable offer from UW. I’m sure Rip is in communication with him and he knows a UW offer could be coming soon.
I like Schlenbaker’s obvious size and physical talent but his vision on film is inconsistent. But he’s also new to the sport so he could develop better vision and instincts. But right now, I would prefer Emeka Megwa who looks like a 225 pound Myles Gaskin on film. Either way, UW is probably going to land another big back so I’ll be happy about that.

Savaiinea seems like a classic #2/3 pass rusher that can really make an impact. He’s not a #1, but he has tools and a motor. Considering that was his soph film, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a 4 star when all is said and done.
Moss needs to add weight, BAD.
Branch is buying into Donte’s Bullshit. It’s ok, USC is gonna like like shit again this year with their nonexistent running game and poor physicality. Replacing those defensive guys they’re losing with younger guys is gonna make their defense look like shit.
Clemons is meh, rather have Merriweather. Clemons is too similar to Germie so I don’t know if that would be the best fit. Merriweather has pretty good speed and length so he’s a must.
Zach Rowell is intriguing. A lot of these guys need more film to look more impressive but covid fucked them.
Hopefully, there is a spring season in cali and oregon.
Conerly is a must. Very high upside OL who has dominated camps. With Junior film, so many more of these guys look way more dominant.
Nabou and Iuli are musts. In-state has the bulk of the OLine talent out west. Let’s not fuck this up, please. OL is extremely important.

Watched these HUDL. Here are my thoughts.
Cyrus Moss – played a bit slow and tentative. Doesn’t really have physicality or get off. Technique is “meh” but he’s body is great and if he’s able to take his mentality to another level then he could really pop. The Composite .97 score is a wee bit optimistic as you watch his video and nothing really jumps out to you as “wow”.
Kayvon Thibodeaux – Wow ..wow and more wow. He’s everything you want in a 5 Star. On one vide the LT doesn’t even touch him. LT steps back leaving a gap and KT exploits the opening. Video of him chasing guys down from across the field. KT showed physicality at all times. Just a different level player.
Nathan Burrell – I think UW’s interest is legit. NB shows a great knack for hand play and beating his guy at the LoS. A lot of NB’s pressure is coming straight to the QB rather than trying to arc around his guy. That technique will translate if he ups his strength. I think UW’s interest in ST John Bosco pipeline coupled with a lack of fear in playing undersized guys at Edge means NB probably has a solid chance of being the guy along with Anthony Jones.
NB and KT to me look like the most natural and instinctive fb players. Moss looks like a kid with a NFL body that just needs to get the rest of his game in order.

Okay counting Otton who is a 4 star we can do some math here. Already 4 in the class, plus 8 that be 12 guys in the class so far when we have room for about 14-16.

Yeah, Camas is definitely not Husky country. If anything, Washington State, by virtue of their extension in Vancouver is the biggest rival to Oregon there in terms of community influence.

To inherit what they got and to be getting boat raced yearly is a problem.

I really think that the DB recruiting is becoming concerning. This should be a position of strength, you have a black DB head coach who rebuffed Saban. How many people can say that? DBs all over the league showing out, even lightly recruited ones. Two more going probably Day 2 of the draft this year. Not sure the two recruiters are doing the job.
