Participant04/15/2020 at 8:41 am #15351Thanks. The pods are needed for the whole ‘working from home for X months’ scenario.

Participant04/15/2020 at 11:03 am #15354Awesome podcast boys! If that girl with Oregon and Auburn ties still works in UW’s Marketing Dept. then she needs to be fired and replaced by Sub K. Love the passion and high expectations.

Participant04/15/2020 at 2:55 pm #15363Nice pod as usual guys.
Lol I still can’t believe Petersen rolled out 5’10 Aaron Fuller, 5’8 Andre Baccellia, and 5’7 Chico McClatcher as our starting lineup at receiver to begin last season. Three years after making it to the playoffs he pulls that shit? It still just blows my mind. That actually happened. I was there and saw it in person. Fuck retiring, Petersen should have been fired. I remember Softy asking Jimmy recently about the receiver position last season and Jimmy busted up laughing and said “that’s a hard question to answer”.
Now I’m just beating off to Jalen McMillan and Rome Odunze highlights on a daily basis and I’m like “if they don’t play immediately fire everyone!”. Rome is probably going to be 6’3 210 with 4.5 speed as a true Freshman. His Senior year highlights look like Joe Ngata’s at Folsom. He runs like a deer with those long legs and he ain’t going down easily. He’s like the opposite of Baccellia. Even when it seems like he has no chance of getting in the end zone, he gets in. You think he’s gonna get tackled and then “oh shit”, he breaks free and he’s gone. McMillan is the same way in a lighter and even faster package. And I’m not sleeping on Sawyer either because he’s bigger and more physical than a bunch of our receivers already on the team. I wanna see at least two of those guys getting meaningful reps against Michigan.

Just when I’m past thinking about the WR group debacle/glacier failure from last year, you bring it up, and I get PTSD again. Thanks
We all realize it’s not a hard question to answer for Jimmy if he was off the record, but he isn’t, so I will answer it for him.
Because Pete had a soft spot for Upperclassmen who had paid their dues and thought their experience could overcome their physical limitations.
Bama/Penn State/Ohio State said hi to that philosophy in the Bowl Games, and last year (along with ILB) it bled into 4 losses in the juggernaut Pac-12 Conference.

Participant04/16/2020 at 7:33 am #15398I love the Pod Sub-K gave excellent insight. Good to see DDY back in action. I am encouraged about what Lake is doing which vibes with what I heard about Lake. Everyone I know who played under Lake said he was thorough and predicted he was going to be the next coach of UW. That’s why I am more optimistic about the Donovan hire. I love hearing that Sirmon is tearing it up.

Participant04/16/2020 at 9:50 am #15399DDY sounded like Pete at the Rose Bowl. Low energy, disinterested, and then bolted early. Sub K is the Jimmy Lake of UW podcasting now.

Participant04/16/2020 at 7:06 pm #15406I still think Morris will be the guy but I would be excited about Sirmon if he earns the job as well. He’s got a great story. Hometown kid from a suburb 20 minutes outside of Seattle. His dad is a professor at UW. His cousin is potentially one of the starting ILB’s next season. The same season his cousin becomes a starter on defense, he would become the starting QB. He came very close to transferring after his red shirt season but changed his mind and stuck it out and later earned the starting job. There’s so much there for a broadcaster to work with. It’s stories like that along with great play on the field and obvious physical NFL talent that creates a local legend and a player that demands national attention and respect.
With that being said, Morris was surgical with his ball placement and fast with his decision making in high school and everything I’ve heard says he transitioned well to the college level. Sirmon was known for letting his arm strength get the best of him in high school and throwing some wildly inaccurate passes at times. Has he improved that aspect of his game and developed into the player we hoped he would when he was recruited? I’m gonna have to see it to believe it. We can never have nice things around here. We can never have a big-bodied NFL looking specimen at QB that doesn’t suck. It just doesn’t happen here. Would be nice if it did though.
