Maybe losing Petersen hurts us as he was our best recruiter. Also, because of negligence from the AD for years and years the Washington brand has been weak. It was elevated by Pete and his personal brand. With him gone, our branding hangs in the balance.

I agree Chest but it’s early and outside of tOSU due to the corona not many recruits are committing. If you look at 247 top 10 currently it’s mish mash, Wisconsin, Minnesota, I think we will have a strong class. We are going through an unprecedented time. I want to let it play out before I make judgments. I will not be surprised if they move back signing day this year. Everything is fluid and uncertain with the world I would hate to be a recruit right now. Talking to a former teammate his daughter just got her first D-1 offer and she was expecting to blow up this summer but that’s probably not going to happen. LIPO.

Hearing we are way behind on Emeka and just behind on JT. Maybe corona will help us.

The Corona to me helps with JT, I predict we lose Emeka and keep JT. He is too close with his family to go cross country. It’s hard not to be interested when tOSU or Clemson come knocking but in the end it’s hard to pull the trigger on leaving. Emeka is dependent on the season and what the offense looks like in my opinion.
Given Corey Foreman’s decommitment from Clemson and likely commitment to USC sooner or later, I’m now more optimistic about Emeka and JT eventually choosing UW.

He’s a ways down my board at ILB. I imagine the same is true for the coaches. Good athlete but not a lot of ILB film to evaluate and what’s there only shows that he’s a good 7on7 player but can he make tackles in the box versus the run?

“Sark years” is a huge stretch. The roster is already loaded far beyond Sark’s wildest dreams when he was the coach here and this class will easily be top-15 no matter what.

Hate is a strong word. What happened? It’s not like Lake and crew have been ignoring in state kids like Sark did. With Huard and Smalls in the boat I thought we had a ton of momentum with local kids.

Simon’s not high on UW’s ILB board and never was. The only in-state guys they really want are Huard, JTT, Emeka, Jumper, Prentice, and one of the Kennedy Catholic receivers which looks like it’s gonna be Tinae. Emeka’s not FSP. Neither is Jumper. So really, who cares? They’ll probably get 4 out of the 6 guys they want and if either 5-star kid has a change of heart and commits to UW, the chances of getting the other one go up significantly.

Where is this sudden “hate for uw” from the fsp kids coming from? Besides this most recent draft uw has done well with fsp kids and always seemed to have a good connection. Thought things would only get stronger with ford being hired as a coach.
You are obviously full of shit and not as connected as you think you are. I’m sure there is a lot of sour grapes from kids like Gee Scott Jr., DJ Rogers, and Ayden Hector who all wanted to go to UW but weren’t invited to the party for one reason or another and those guys have dripped their poison into the ears of a couple 2021 guys. But guess what? In a couple months they’ll all be gone and those couple of 2021 kids will have their entire Senior seasons without those influences in their lives and will be able to think about UW from a clear and unaltered perspective. In other words, things change all the time and the pendulum has a way of swinging back in UW’s favor in the end. I would be more worried about the in-state 5-star kids if they were leaning towards UW right now but not making an official public commitment until December or February. That’s too much time for UW to have to hold their attention. With in-state national recruits, we’re better off not setting the pace of the race early, hanging back in the middle of the pack for a while, and then making our move closer to signing day. It’s going to be okay chicken little. The sky isn’t falling.
