.This looks like it’ll be the last weekend the coaches will be hosting recruits. Tanoa Togiai is the big name coming and he’ll be joined by a group of PWO candidates.

I think Ethan Garbers and Mark Redman will be taking their OVs this weekend. Pretty uninspiring overall. Hopefully we can add someone to the list.

“Uninspiring” is a weird way to look at it. There are only two, maybe three scholarship targets left on the board and one of them, Jack Yary, already officially visited.
Princely Umanmeilan is officially visiting Florida on the 24th but will still have one OV left. He has eliminated Baylor due to Matt Rhule’s departure. He’s a Texas decommit but recently unofficially visited Texas so they’re trying to mend that relationship and get him back in the boat. Princely has “liked” stuff on Twitter to suggest he’s officially visiting UW. Did Florida beat UW out for the OV on the 24th or does he have a secret OV to UW planned after that for his fifth and final OV. Or is he just one of those kids that likes to tease fans on social media and give them false hope and we have absolutely no chance at all. We’ll see.
Yary would be a huge get. Both he and Redman have the talent to be Day 1 contributors.
Togiai would be a good get. Huge body and he’s athletic. More of a project guy with big-time upside which we can afford to take because of the D-line class they brought in before him. Utah has lived off of getting guys like this. He could end up being a total steal three years from now.
Umanmeilan would be the big splash guy everybody wants to finish with but that’s a long shot. Good thing we already got a bunch of splash guys who signed early.
Disagree with the tern uninspiring, @millenialdoog Kinchen and Pei could both be awesome adds as PWOs, and because of the current DL situation having Togiai on campus is big, because they need to keep adding bodies to that room. Still holding out hope for Princely, but this is still going to be an important weekends.

Last year we were working on getting Asa to re-commit and we signed Puka. The year before we pulled in Tuli and Julius Irvin during the late period. I would say this is a step below both of those years. I think you could argue that this is the worst class out of the three, despite having the best top end talent, though I would probably order them 19, 20, then 18.
I am definitely excited about the PWO guys, but remember last year we added Drew Fowler as a walk on despite having several Pac-12 offers. My point is just it is a let down after the last couple years.

In his interview with Softy, Lake said “we’re waiting for a couple of guys who visited in the fall to make decisions”. The only one I know of is Yary, but it sure sounded like there’s at least one other guy who visited that they’re still in on. Anyone know who?

I think Yary is in the bag. His most recent interview from the Poly bowl made it pretty obvious he’s bought into UW’s TE utilization and NFL development, something USC and ASU can’t sell. Those just look like courtesy visits at this point.

@ballz I’m still with your original thought. The BEST decision for Yary is the UW. We consistently put TE in the league. Cade Otton will be the NFL in two years. Devin Culp might be on the verge of league ready.
Jimmy is saying Pro-Style and vertical passing game. It’s like sprinkling TE flavored pixie dust on an offense. The Offense Coordinator Donovan recruited Mike Gesicki to Penn Stat. UW is the logical decision…USC is the heart full decision.
DT Josiah Nikolao committed as a PWO. Don’t know much about him but he’s 6’2, 300 so he has the size we need on the inside. Probably lacks the athleticism of the guys we’ve brought in the last few years but I’m glad we added some depth here.

I’m with you up until the Devin Culp comment. He struggled this year so I hope you’re correct that he’s on the up-and-up because I haven’t seen anything from him that suggests that yet
