You bring up some valid points. I’m particularly concerned about the economy and how to not add permanent government spending.
Me too, it’s completely ridiculous the way the government is reacting to this. It’s pouring gasoline on a fire. You can’t shut down the economy and cause a depression to try to save the lives of people who are already sick and dying. That’s a natural process that can’t be stopped. Reasonable precautions like no large gatherings is fine. But forcing businesses to close their doors is not. You cannot allow a virus that threatens a minority of the population to threaten the entire population due to an economic meltdown. Humans are an irrational and panicky species and the mainstream news media and government are only amplifying those tendencies with their actions and fear mongering rhetoric. This virus and the government’s reaction could cause another depression and when that happens things will get dangerous, people will lose their jobs in mass, people will get panicky and desperate, criminals will become emboldened, stores will get looted, and some very unlucky people will get robbed and murdered. It doesn’t need to get ugly like that if people just stay calm, think rationally, and the government prevents as much economic slow down as possible. But good luck getting these retards to think rationally. Just look at the mainstream news and it’s all about stemming the spread of the virus with zero mention of what extreme efforts to due so will do to the economy.
