“Newton surpassed Ahmed and was the starter by the end of the season.”
LOL Ballz being Ballz again.
For the season Salvon carried the ball 188 times for 1,020 yards. Dick Newton carried the ball 117 times for 498 yards.
When Newton returned against Oregon State, Salvon out produced him in three of the four games.
Salvon vs OSU was 25-174, Newton was 17-54. Salvon beat him by 8 carries and 120 yards.
Salvon vs Colorado was 13-29, Newton was 12-32. That is basically a wash as both sucked.
Salvon vs WSU was 16-85, Newton was 9-17. So Salvon 7 more carries and 68 more yards.
Now in the bowl game is the ONLY game where Newton outproduced Salvon in which they both played in since Stanford.
Salvon vs BSU 6-20, Newton 15-69.
This notion that Salvon wasn’t a starter or was beaten out by the end of the season is just inaccurate.
