The difference between Donovan and Chip/Dabo is he has an established track record and it’s not good. Jimmy has a hard on for NFL experience but I question how much valuable experience Donovan was able to gain as a glorified intern for a trash franchise. I hope I’m wrong but it’s an incredibly risky hire.
Yeah that’s false. His track record is some really good shit at Vanderbilt with lesser talent. That’s what got James Franklin the Penn State job in the first place. Then some struggles at Penn State due to personnel issues on the offensive side of the ball, particularly QB and O-line, followed by being the scapegoat so Franklin could keep his job. Franklin didn’t want to fire him in the first place but he was pressured into doing so by the AD.
If Donovan was just some “glorified intern” for the Jags as you put it, why did three different NFL sources independently recommend him to Jimmy?
