I appreciate your optimistic outlook. I do agree that their OL will take a big step back. Despite all their hype, Oregon has low-key recruited like shit on their OL. We have DESTROYED them in OL recruiting over the last 3 years. If they end up with Kingsley that will be the only OL recruit that have gotten that we actually wanted over that span.
In terms of them installing a new offense, they deserve credit for hiring the best available OC and not a washed up RB assistant from the second worst franchise in the NFL. Have to give them an edge in scheme until proven otherwise.
And fuck Cal. We should beat the shit out of them. Losing them to them once is an embarrassment let alone 3 years in a row. It took an act of god and the worst UW team in 4 years for them to beat us last year. If we can’t beat Cal this year fire everyone.
No question replacing 4 oline starters will be a step back for Oregon, continuity will be missing regardless how good their new dudes are.
Their oline class this year looks solid not only are they trending for Kingsley but I noticed they got a crystal ball for Bram Walden another dude with husky offer.
Our last 3 OL classes have been significantly better than theirs during that time frame. Them getting a good class this year isn’t going to help them this season or even for the next 2 or 3. Their OL recruiting has been fine, but for a team with an OL coach as their head guy who’s prowess was always in recruiting I found it underwhelming. We took 3 of the top 4 guys on the west coast this year. That is what recruiting dominance looks like.
