Good size for his age at 6’3 245. Very quick first few steps off the ball but after that initial explosion his speed drops off a little bit. He doesn’t have elite pursuit speed or elite change of direction athleticism for an edge guy. If he chooses UW, I’m not sure whether or not he would end up playing OLB or growing into an interior guy in the Levi Onwuzurike mold who could provide some pass rush ability up the middle. When I look at OLB prospects, I prefer guys that are 220-230 pounds in high school and super twitchy and fast with elite pursuit speed. Those guys usually maintain their speed better when they put on 20-30 pounds in college compared to a guy who is already 245 as a Junior in high school and already doesn’t have elite pursuit speed. That’s why I’m higher on Josh McCarron as an OLB prospect than Bollers. But Bollers would be a great pick up no matter what position he ends up playing at UW because even if he outgrows OLB, he’s not going to lose that explosiveness off the ball and interior pass rushers are important as well.
