Pete seemed really tired and like someone who lost his love and passion for football and his job. And when you’re in a role where you’re trying to recruit 17 and 18 year olds to come to your program, this can’t be a good thing!
Whereas Jimmy is chomping at the bit to get started. His answer to how he’ll be different than CP was how into the X’s and O’s he is compared to Pete was exciting and refreshing to hear! The idea that he’ll constantly be tweaking things not only on defense, but ST an offense was a sound for sore ears.
Love CP and what he did for this program and the foundation he built. But it was clearly time for him to move on and I feel that JL is the right guy for the job because we now have a coach that is excited about going to work, not someone who feels like he’s stuck and wants to quit.
Go Dawgs!
