I was also there and had same impressions as Passion.
Lake was asking for more fan engagement on social media, and stressed importance of spring game attendance for recruiting but also so team can scrimmage in front of a real crowd. I liked when he outlined the recruiting priorities and order: 1. Is recruit tough, and do they like contact? 2. Is recruit an NFL caliber player? 3. Are they a good person? Does recruit fit academics and culture? Petersen used to say same thing, OKGs were elite football players first.
Donovan was not dynamic, but agree with Ballz not sure it matters. Damon Huard was M.C. and is a little over the top (and corny) with his “energy” so the contrast with Donovan made him seem very flat. Donovan went first, maybe they should have started with a familiar face. Huff is charismatic for sure. Made a joke about high caliber guns. I’m not a gun guy, but made me laugh.
Gaard and Lolohea looked legit. My kids were distracting me, so didn’t see or hear Murao. I was a little bummed more local recruits weren’t there. Did they have to be enrolled to attend the event?
