I’m am confused about this Morris hype. The kid is 6’0 196 pounds when he was getting recruited he got dropped from ND. All his evaluations consistently stated that he does not have an elite arm but makes up for lack of arm strength with anticipation. He’s also not an elite scrambler but I keep hearing he has the “it” factor. To be honest if we would not have jumped the gun he probably would have ended up at WSU.
Size is not an issue. The majority of the best college QB’s in recent memory have been short. Morris will be 205-210 after more time in the weight room. It didn’t seem to be a problem for Baker Mayfield.
Who the fuck cares about ND? They fucked up and slow-played Morris for another QB who didn’t even commit to them after Morris committed to UW so they ended up with neither of their top-2 targets. Big-mistake by them.
His arm strength is damn good. Just watch the fucking film. I don’t understand how the fuck you or anyone else doesn’t see the kid has a really good arm and is super accurate. You either never bothered to watch his film because of his lack of size or you can’t tell the fucking difference between good arm talent and shit arm talent.
He’d be a WSU if UW never offered? No, he’d be a Notre Dame. Jesus Christ, at this point you just look like a Morris hater because he doesn’t have the size or mobility you want a UW QB to have. So just go ahead and admit that and stop pretending you know shit about what he’s capable of.
When people say he has the “it” factor, it’s not in reference to his mobility. It’s in reference to his ability to process information quickly and make fast decisions that tend to be the right ones. He has vision, a feel for the game, and yes, great anticipation.
I’ll leave you with this, John Conzano, reporter for the sports section of the Oregonian, saw Morris play one game of high school football and said “he’s the best high school QB I’ve ever seen.”
