Sorry @Ballz, but if this team is to reach its potential, then the QB position has to be great. It seems clear that Sirmon hasn’t made the strides the coaches would like, and Morris is still too young. You have to go for win now with the recruiting classes we’ve had and whats there for taking in 2021 and 2022. Another 8-5 season would be a huge road block to building on the last two classes.
I say always compete, if we can bring Kostello in we should and lets goooooo
I don’t think Costello is better than Morris. If you bring him in, Sirmon is automatically in the transfer portal before or after Spring ball. And then you’re just stunting Morris’ development and therefore what the team is capable of doing in 2021. If we were talking about getting a guy like Jalen Hurts for one year, then I’d be fine with that. But taking a guy who was basically beaten out by another QB at Stanford and has issues with concussions is not worth it IMO. He’s not good enough to hand the job to and that’s what grad transfers want before they even agree to come to a school.
Morris is as good as the best QB in the Pac-12 from a year ago?
I hope you are right but I would not bet on it.
