It’s really hard to predict losses when I think about good the defense is going to be. It’s going to be like 2016’s defense with a better pass rush. The only way this team will lose games is when the offense has an absolute abortion of a game like we’ve seen in recent years and score only like 13 points or some shit like that.
10-2 with losses to USC and the Coug (I know, I know, but it’s on the road and they’ll have a new coach and new attitude. We lost to WSU in Leach’s first season. It’ll be embarrassing. Our playoff hopes will be dashed by the Cougs and everybody will melt the fuck down: “Fuck Jimmy Lake”, “At least Petersen never lost to the Coug”, etc.)
UW wins the North. USC wins the South. That USC loss in the regular season is avenged in the Pac-12 championship game. 11-2. Pac-12 Champs.
UW goes to another non-playoff NY6 bowl game. Fiesta Bowl? Sugar Bowl? I don’t know how the stupid bowl game shit works but you get it. They probably lose because we never win big bowl games. 11-3.
If they go 8-4 again with this schedule I’m going to be concerned. Michigan and USC are the only teams that can match up talent wise. Oregon and Utah lose all-time great Senior classes that likely won’t be replaced well enough the following season for them to be contenders. They’ll take a step back. UW avoids playing in the desert. The schedule is basically a cake walk after Utah unless Stanford has a big bounce back season which shouldn’t happen considering how many guys just transferred out of their program.
I’m confident they’ll win at least 10 games again. The defense will be too good not to. The O-line will be good. There will be an infusion of elite talent at the offensive skill positions. Plus, I KNOW Dylan Morris is good. My intuition has been screaming at me that he’s a baller since he was first recruited and everybody was shitting on him because they wanted Salad Millen instead. But Morris is a baller. His arm talent, accuracy, vision, mental processing, and fast release are elite and he’s decently mobile. He’s UW’s version of Trace McSorley. And I’m not writing off Sirmon, either. If he manages to beat out Morris you can be assured he’s going to be really good because the only way he could beat out Morris is by being really fucking good.
