Biden is a poor choice as a candidate, but the corruption shit that has been cooked up is mostly bullshit. I am absolutely not trying to defend him, he was close to my last choice of all the Dem candidates, but when the entire conservative smear machine is aimed at you and all they can get is that flimsy laptop story, you know his record is fairly clean. God Biden was an uninspiring candidate, and now that the senate is lost, NOTHING will get done for the next 4, probably 8 years at the very least. We are still royally fucked.

Have you ever spent more than a week in another country in the developed world? There are many nations that kick America’s ass in terms of providing actual opportunity for economic equality, and they enjoy a very high standard of living and are highly productive economies with highly educated people.
Frankly, sometimes I wish my ancestors had never left Scandinavia. The average joe is totally ripped off by the US corporate/political racket.
The ingratitude exhibited in this thread would be astonishing if it weren’t so typical. It is a slap in the face to generations of Americans who established and preserved the prosperous nation we live in. People still risk their lives to come here. Even Europeans have immigrated here for decades during our lifetimes. And we’re “*ucked”? It is crazy to me that people have so little understanding of how GOOD they have it here in the US. I truly doubt you know – have you lived in a developing country, or even spent more than a couple weeks in one? I lived and worked in mainland China and I can tell you that many of their people would have LOVED to come and live in the US. And I never met anyone in the US who was clamoring to live in China. I am truly concerned for our country’s future when so many people think we have it BAD here, and the politics of envy are openly flouted. No nation in the history of the world has had equality of outcome, and it has been met with disastrous results where that has been the goal. Jordan Peterson speaks on this at length and quite persuasively. With more voices calling for equality of outcome – a triumph of neo Marxists in academia, in reality – we’re headed down a dark road. I sincerely hope (though I’m not optimistic) that Biden can slow down the far left and that he actually serves out his four years. Harris openly calling for equality of outcome does NOT bode well for America, contrary to what the neo Marxists have been preaching to us for years.
