He’s a buffoon and bad for the program. He has a huge voice and impact on the fanbase, sadly.
I completely disagree. Who else in the Seattle market had a dedicated weekly show to UW football? I chose to listen to the Honks over the KOMO pre AND post game broadcasts. KJR had more UW football coverage than KOMO and 710 combined. That’s all thanks to Softy. Without him local media exposure would be putrid for the program.
^^^ True. And couldn’t agree more on listening to Honks over whatever KOMO is putting out (I listened in like once and went straight back to Softy, Baird and Millen). Frankly don’t care that Baird (and Softy) are the ultimate Homers, at least Baird has great stories and is funny and actually knows something about football, and I don’t mind that Millen gets deified by some, he largely earns it IMO and is the most insightful guy available to me on Husky football.
