I’m excited about the WR depth because if a team doesn’t have WR depth there’s a penalty for calling go routes in WR fatigue. Much like pitch counts ..if you’re heading into the 4th quarter and you’ve only targeted the same WR ..he’s tired.
If you’re deep at WR and can play a majority of snaps with a guy capable of ripping the top off the defense it creates a lot more pressure on the opposing defense.
We should have used Jordan Chin more last year. He had the lone long TD in the Oregon game. ASU must have seen this and other Oregon games and exploited the fact that Oregon gambles and often leaves a single player back for deep coverage.
We have the bodies to throw downfield. Donovan has nothing to lose. He hasn’t coached a college game in 4 years. It’s house money right now. Air it out.
