John Canzano’s (OregonLive.com) take on the North:
I’m picking Oregon to win the North. I’ve got USC in the South. It’s a weird season, but I don’t see either program struggling to win games on the schedule the conference released on Saturday. They’ve got the two most talented overall rosters, they’ve got head coaches with momentum and continuity. Weird things may happen, but this is lined up for a Ducks-Trojans conference title game on Dec. 19.
Perhaps John isn’t familiar with the BCR. He’s a guy Duck fans love to hate (for good reason), but is also a fairly regular homer for them.
Canzano can be quite good but is the epitome of self-promotion, regularly stirring up controversy where none exists for his own interests. I suspect people in this market who see his stuff regularly and hear him constantly on local sports radio have a different view of him than those giving him awards.
