Just 4 years ago, UW was taken over a conference champion (Penn St), when our CCG opponent Colorado had lost to Michigan, a second team vying for a spot.
The Pac 12 gets the respect it deserves.
It hasn’t had a team even worth considering for the playoff since 2016.
It won’t have a team worth considering this year.
We’re a dumpster fire in the media because of our bullshit startup network and our commissioner, and lack of unity.
Yeah, that was four years ago. And what was the reaction after the game from the national media? It was “see, I told you Washington didn’t belong there”. Sure, us UW fans will say our defense competed with Bama but even I can admit, UW’s playoff game was the most boring game in playoff history. There have been blowouts in the playoffs that were more exciting to watch. The perception of the Pac-12 has only gotten worse since then.
There’s little doubt in my mind the next Pac-12 team that deserves to be in the playoffs will get snubbed under this current playoff selection system. Why wouldn’t you want a Pac-12 team in the playoffs every year? The conference championships should decide who’s in and who’s not.
