Really? Based on the fact that he was Pete’s QB for 4 years not that long ago. Look, I’m agreeing with you that people should let it play out. All I’m saying is that out of all the names that had been thrown around he is potentially the closest thing to what we have seen the past few years
He played for Pete, I get that. Just don’t see how that makes him run an offense like Pete. Didnt he run the #1 offense in the NFL? I mean shouldn’t that be the focus for any approach to players or recruits?
Saying it was the #1 offense in the NFL is a touch misleading. It wasn’t the #1 in scoring. It was #6 and only 2 pts per game better than the Seahawks offense, which sucks ass.
It was #1 in yards per play. That’s good. All other things being equal that’s a really nice metric. But Dallas was in the middle of the league in terms of scoring touchdowns in the red zone. That’s how the top yards per play team ends up with a fairly pedestrian scoring average. It also sounds eerily familiar to what we have seen a lot of.
The other concern is that while the numbers look pretty decent on average, the Cowboys’ offense shit the bed in a quarter of their games. Like scored 15 points or less four times. Again, that has a familiar feel to it that I don’t really like.
And again, for those in the back, offenses that work in the NFL don’t necessarily do well in college.
