I am sure Lake is going to try to close this hire as quickly as possible with the possible early entrants he has to try to persuade to stay. From a personal standpoint I hope it doesn’t drag on too much longer, haha. I am super curious what other moves may be coming, I tend to think two more coaches could be jettisoned, Bonopha (obviously as others have said) and Gregory can’t be comfortable at all (as teq mentioned). I believe that this initial move happened so we could hire our OC ASAP, others will be later in the process, most likely before coaches convention or shortly after if Lake gets a good feel on other candidates.
