If I had to grade position by position (and I do), I’d say
QB: B
RB: C
WR: A
TE: A-
OL: A
DL: F-
OLB: B+
ILB: C-
DB: C-
Overall it’s kind of a B or B- class to me.
Nightmarishly horrible on D, really good on O, but as Sonics said – the RB group is bad.
I don’t understand how you can really like Sunday if you think he will be like Sean McGrew.
You know who I like? D’Andre Swift.
JTFC, South Carolina got a 5-star running back. We have never signed a kid that was a hard recruit to get during KB’s time here. And of course, KB cannot coach.
So… I’m hoping KB is gone.
This is the kind of class that looks okay on paper in total rankings, but the game isn’t played that way.
The defensive staff had it all teed up this year and completely blew it.
DB recruiting – missed all our top targets except for Esteen.
OLB recruiting – wow, we got a hometown kid after 3 straight NY6 Bowl seasons! HOORAY!!
DL recruiting – apparently, every now and then, we just don’t take DLs.
ILB recruiting – love seeing Herbig and Botelho on our signing list, oh wait FYBG!
I think people around here have very low standards. I look at it strictly from the perspective of ‘Are we top 8 in the country at each position?’ Or ‘would UGA, LSU, Clemson, Bama, Ohio State, Florida or Oklahoma be happy with our class?’
Getting a hometown 5-star should be easy for us. We botched Smalls’ recruitment and it gutted our class because we had to spend so much time and energy chasing our tail.
I can’t believe we got a DB from SagU and it wasn’t Ringo. Again: a joke.
This class is super if you add 2 guys on O (Bijan Robinson and Jack Yary) and 6 guys on D (ANY DT!!!, Damian Sellers, Botelho, Herbig, Ringo and Ayden Hector).
That’s pretty far off from a great class.
I’m hoping Jimmy will take recruiting seriously, because this class on D is a leg cramp.
