Welcome to Bow Down to Washington (BDTW), or Bow Down for short.
You are here because you love the University of Washington and we are here because we love the University of Washington more and we beat you to it.
The entire point of Bow Down is to celebrate everything about the University of Washington, first and foremost through the thing that most unites Washington alumni and fans: Husky Football. It is no exaggeration to say that each member of Bow Down’s staff spends time every single day thinking about Husky football and football recruiting.
So, while Husky Football will be our primary focus, there will be “mission creep” to other areas, like the Softball team, the price of season tickets, or even the Chemistry Department.
Our goal is to simply provide the best content available anywhere on our shared obsession(s) and to create a community for those with similar passion to feel right at home. We hope to sate your appetite for smart, detailed, truthful, and sometimes humorous coverage of Husky football, and points beyond.
A Simple Standard
Our fundamental viewpoint on Husky athletics, and the University of Washington in general, is that we want everything to be the best it can possibly be. Why? Because we care.
No matter what anybody told you in 2008, or 1988, or 1998, there is no reason anything associated with the University of Washington can’t be the best.
We are blessed with a truly World Class university. We have a Top 10 football coach. We are located in a vibrant and growing city. We have the Greatest Setting in college football in Husky Stadium. We have fans so passionate and loyal that our football attendance in our program’s worst year was far higher than our primary rivals have had in their best years.
We are here to make sure that everything to do with the University of Washington is the best. When it isn’t, we are going to point it out and possibly get a little rant-y. When it is, we are going to celebrate it and make sure to point it out to everybody, and especially to the rest of the conference.
We are also going to have FUN. Because sports are supposed to be fun, whether you are playing them or watching them.
